Worldwide semiconductor revenue totaled 793 billion dollars in 2025, an increase of 21 percent year over year, according to preliminary results by Gartner. NVIDIA extended its lead over Samsung Electronics by 53 billion dollars in revenue. The company became the first vendor to cross 100 billion dollars in semiconductor sales and contributed to over 35 percent of industry growth in 2025. Samsung Electronics retained the No. 2 spot with 73 billion dollars in semiconductor revenue. SK Hynix moved into the No. 3 position with 61 billion dollars, an increase of 37 percent year over year. AI semiconductors accounted for nearly one third of total sales in 2025. AI processors exceeded 200 billion dollars in sales while high bandwidth memory surpassed 30 billion dollars, representing 23 percent of the DRAM market. The buildout of AI infrastructure generated high demand for AI processors, high bandwidth memory and networking chips. Rajeev Rajput, senior principal analyst at Gartner, said AI semiconductors continued to drive growth in the semiconductor market. Intel ended the year at 6 percent market share.
