Google Cloud publishes blog on completion of Wiz acquisition for multicloud/AI security Image: Primary
Google Cloud announced the completion of its acquisition of Wiz, a leading cloud and AI security platform, in a blog post by CEO Thomas Kurian. The Wiz team will join Google Cloud, and the Wiz brand will be retained. The company said the addition will provide customers with a comprehensive platform to secure cloud and hybrid environments and accelerate threat prevention, detection, and response. Google Cloud said this will help customers enhance security for enterprise systems while lowering the cost of maintaining security controls across on-premises and multicloud environments. The blog post noted that Wiz is already a strategic Google Cloud partner and an inaugural partner in the Google Unified Security Recommended partner program. Together the companies plan to offer an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that combines Google Threat Intelligence and Security Operations with Wiz cloud and AI security capabilities to detect, prevent, and respond to threats across all environments. Wiz enables organizations to secure cloud and AI applications by connecting code, cloud, and runtime into a single shared context. The platform builds real-time maps of application architecture, permissions, data flows, and runtime behavior to identify exposure and exploitable attack paths. Over the past 12 months Wiz expanded its platform with new AI security capabilities that give visibility into AI applications and usage, prevent AI-native risks, and protect AI workloads at runtime.
