Boston Dynamics Expands Massachusetts Footprint with New 323,000 Square Foot Facility in Waltham

WALTHAM, Mass. Boston Dynamics announced plans to transform a 323,000 square foot facility at 1601 Trapelo Road, known as Reservoir Place, in Waltham into an advanced robotics and AI center. The site sits near the company's existing headquarters, across Route 128 and about 12 miles from Boston. The project will consolidate operations from three nearby locations and expand capabilities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, workforce training and research and development. Boston Dynamics plans to invest 100 million dollars and anticipates creating 1,250 new jobs by 2033. The Healey-Driscoll Administration awarded the company a 25 million dollar Economic Development Incentive Program award, approved by the Economic Assistance Coordinating Council, to fund renovation and buildout activities for the Atlas, Spot and Stretch platforms. Interim CEO Amanda McMaster said Boston Dynamics has called Waltham home for many years and the expansion reflects how fast the industry is moving, giving the team space and resources to launch its third robot platform this decade. Governor Maura Healey said the investment will create good jobs, strengthen the advanced manufacturing ecosystem and ensure Massachusetts remains a global leader in robotics.
