Tesla FSD Faces Expanded NHTSA Probe, Recall Expected

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded its investigation into Tesla's Full Self-Driving software and is expected to issue a recall, The Verge reported. The probe covers incidents where FSD engaged in unsafe driving behavior including running red lights and failing to yield to pedestrians. NHTSA's investigation now encompasses a larger number of vehicles and driving scenarios than the original inquiry. Tesla has issued multiple FSD recalls in the past, typically resolved through over-the-air software updates rather than physical vehicle modifications.
