Google updates Gemini Spark to edit Docs spreadsheets and slides

Google announced an update to its AI assistant Gemini Spark that adds the ability to edit Docs, spreadsheets and slides. The company said the assistant can now add images inside documents and presentations, read comments more smoothly and use a Canvas panel for detailed edits. Google said Gemini Spark is now over 50% faster at handling tasks because of new algorithms that juggle multiple data sources at once. Notifications have also been adjusted so users already working in a task's thread in the Gemini web app will not receive unnecessary mobile alerts. The new features are rolling out to Google AI Ultra subscribers wherever Gemini Apps are supported except in the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Josh Woodward of Google said an access update is coming soon for AI Pro users.
