DeepSeek to launch V4 in mid-July with new peak-time API pricing
Image: Primary DeepSeek announced on Monday that the official release of its V4 model is scheduled for mid-July, TechNode reported June 30. The new version builds on an existing preview release with feature enhancements and performance upgrades, and will come standard with a 1-million-token context window across the entire model lineup.
DeepSeek said V4 delivers stronger performance in agent-based task execution, mathematical reasoning, and code generation. The company also introduced a new API pricing plan that takes effect alongside the release. For the first time, DeepSeek will charge peak and off-peak rates.
Peak hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, during which API usage costs twice the off-peak rate.
